At Foresight Communications Group, we place a high value on the process and results of strategic communications planning. The concepts, procedures and tools we use in guiding our clients in communications planning are designed to help them to fulfill organizational missions, meet mandates, satisfy constituents and create organizational value in the short- and long-terms.
We Make Planning Fun
Communications planning doesn't have to be all work and no play. We've developed an interactive planning workshop retreat approach that takes your team out of the office for the day so they can get creative, learn a few things and have some fun in the process.
Whether your team involves staffers from public relations, corporate communications, marketing, sales, management, human resources or employee communications, our overall goal is not only to produce a communications plan, but to improve their overall strategic thinking, acting and learning. We have found that using this approach to communications planning has many benefits: it offers participants the opportunity to express their ideas and concerns, gets everyone on the same page quickly and ultimately works to inspire buy-in and engagement.
Proven Step-By-Step Process
We begin with some pre-planning meetings and initial research with your team as preparation. The workshop then, focuses on leading your team through a proven, step-by-step process which typically explores several of these areas:
- Mission, vision and mandate identification
- Stakeholder analysis
- Environmental assessment
- Strategic and operational issues
- Strategic planning approaches
- Tactical ideation
- Strategy mapping
Once the workshop is completed, a plan will be developed, reviewed and approved by your team. Budgets, timelines, resource allocation recommendations, accountability and measurement mechanisms also may be included in the plan.
